When not to use AI

· AI

AI is a poor fit for problems where the underlying process is unclear. Automating confusion produces confusion faster.

It is also a poor fit where the cost of a rare mistake is high and no one is accountable for reviewing the output. Adding a human in the loop is not a weakness of the design, it is the design.

Where AI works well is narrow, repetitive, high-volume judgement with fast feedback. Start there. Earn the trust of the team before asking for more of it.
